1. Overview

Supports connecting to Oracle to create datasets. Data connections support direct connection or data extraction from Oracle data sources. (Direct connection requires the private deployment version V2.75.0 or above)
Before establishing a data connection, collect the following information:

  • The IP address and port number of the server where the database is located;
  • The database name;
  • The database username and password.

2. Quick start

There are two methods for creating a data connection:

2.1 Create a data connection

(1) Log in to BytePlus. Select a specific project, click Data Preparation, find Data Connection in the drop-down list, and click Data Connection.

(2) On the page, select Oracle.

(3) Fill in the required basic information, test the connection, and after the connection is successful, click Save.

(4) After confirming that the basic information of the data connection is correct, the data connection is established.
(5) This connection can be used as a data source to create a dataset: click Data Preparation --> Dataset, and select the "New" button in the upper left corner to create a new dataset.

(6) Search or scroll through existing connections and select the previously created data source.

2.2 Create via dataset

(1) Log in to BytePlus, click Data Preparation --> Dataset, and select the "New" button in the upper left corner to create a new dataset.

(2) When selecting the data connection, click to create new configuration.

The subsequent steps are the same as steps (2) and (3) in 2.1. You will stay in the pop-up window to select the data connection for the dataset, and you can proceed directly to the next step of dataset creation.
