This topic describes how to add a time series filter for metric dashboard topics.

Prerequisites
- Metric data has been collected. For details, refer to Collect metric topic data.
- A dashboard has been created and statistical charts have been added. For more details, see Create a blank daashboard and Add charts to dashboard.
Notice
The total number of filters, variables, and charts in each dashboard must not exceed 50.
Steps to add a time series filter
- Log in to TLS console.
- Select the region where log service is located from the top navigation bar.
- In the left navigation pane, choose Common functions > Dashboard.
- In the dashboard list, click the dashboard under the target project.
- Click the Settings icon in the upper right corner of the page.

- On the Filters and Variables tab, click Add time filter.
- On the Create time filter panel, configure the following parameters. Then, click Create filter and click Save.
- ConfigurationDescriptionConfigurationDescriptionFilter nameName of the time sequence filter.TLS uses this name as the filter key. It applies to statistical charts on the dashboard where this variable is set.Filter alias (display name)Alias for the filter. For example, you can set an alias Client IP for the variable clientIP to enhance the dashboard experience.Time rangeSpecify the time range for the data source.Metric topicSpecify the metric topic to use.
