Log project
In Torch log service (TLS), a project is the basic resource management unit. It can be used to isolate and control access to log resources among multiple users, projects, or products. This topic describes how to create and manage TLS resources in the console.
Prerequisites
A VolcanoEngine account is created and identity verification is completed. For specific steps, see Account registration and Identity authentication.
Create project
Notice
By default, each account can create up to 100 projects per region. To increase the quota, go to Quota Center and apply an increase for the total_projects_per_account quota.
  1. Select the region where torch log service is located from the top navigation bar.
  1. In the left navigation panel, select Resource Management > Project.
  1. On the Project page, click Create project.
  1. In the Create project dialog box, complete the following configurations, and then click Create.
  •
    Parameters
    Description
    Log project name
The name of the log project.
    Description
Brief description of the log project.
    IAM Project
Select the IAM project to which the current log project belongs from the drop-down list. If you have not created any IAM project or there is no other IAM to select, click Create project to create a new IAM project.
An IAM project is a resource group in VolcanoEngine Identity and Access Management (IAM). The access permission for each project differs from each other. IAM supports policy management. You can categorize multiple cloud resources across various regions under this cloud account into different projects. After that, you can create distinct access policies for each project to manage cloud resources flexibly.
    Notice
    • If no IAM project is specified, log service categorizes the log project into the IAM project named default.
    • After creating a log project, you can modify its IAM project on Identify and Access Management console.
    Tags
Click Add label, and then enter the tag key and tag value to add tags to the log project. Tags identify and classify cloud resources. You can categorize log projects and topics by tags to facilitate resource search and aggregation. For more details, see Tag Overview.

View private network addresses and other information
After creating a project, you can view basic information on the Project page, or go to the details page of the specified project to view the private network connection domain.
  1. Select the region where torch log service is located from the top navigation bar.
  1. On the left navigation bar, select Resource Management > Project.
  1. On the Project page, view the basic information of the project.
  • The Project page displays a list of all projects under the current account in the selected region, including Project name/ID, Number of Topics, Description, Tag, and Creation Time. You can also edit the project name, tags, or description.
  1. Select the specified project, and then click the project name to view its details.
  • In Basic information section, basic information of current project is displayed, including project name, project ID, public address, private internet address, IAM project, description, and tag. The public address and private internet address are the service access entry for the project in public and private networks.
Notice
Service addresses vary by region. If you need to access projects in different regions, we recommend that you copy the corresponding network address directly from the basic information section. For more information about service addresses, see Service address.
Delete project
Warning
Before deleting the project, delete all log topics within the project first.
  1. Select the region where torch log service is located from the top navigation bar.
  1. On the left navigation bar, select Resource Management > Project.
  1. On the Project page, locate the specified project. In Actions column, click Delete.
  1. In the pop-up dialog box, confirm the project information before you click Delete.
