Volcanoengine TLS provides service log features at the product level. Service log features record status information and behavioral data for each function during operation in log format. You can use service log data to monitor TLS operation, feature statuses, and data changes in real time, enhancing operational efficiency.
Features overview
After using Log Collector for log collection, data ingestion, processing, delivery, consumption, scheduled SQL, and alarm features, TLS continuously monitors the operational status and business behavior of these features. It records relevant data as service logs in dedicated log projects and log topics within TLS, with preconfigured indexes for corresponding fields. You can directly view the log data or obtain relevant statistical information through log search and query.
Notice
Except for LogCollector service logs, service logs for all other features are enabled by default and do not require manual configuration. If LogCollector service log data is no longer needed, you can manually disable LogCollector service logs. The log data will be deleted automatically when it expires. For instructions to manually enable or disable LogCollector service logs, see Turn on or off the LogCollector service log. Service logs are designed for product operation scenarios. For example, LogCollector service logs help monitor collected host or container logs in real time during LogCollector client operation, troubleshoot exceptions, and analyze log collection statistics.
The service log feature is a free operational extension of TLS. All resources such as topics, shards, and log data are free, and no storage or basic fees are incurred. However, if service logs are used for data transformation, log shipping, or external system consumption, fees are charged according to billing rules.
Notice
- Configuration changes are not supported for dedicated TLS log resources, including project, topic, and index settings.
- Dedicated TLS log topics are used to store log data generated during TLS operations and do not allow writing other data through PutLogs or similar methods.
- Projects and topics related to service logs do not consume any TLS resource quota.
- Dedicated TLS projects and topics cannot be deleted. You can disable service log features and wait for log data to expire and be removed.
