How to reduce TLS usage costs
This section describes how to reduce TLS usage costs:
How to reduce the cost of index traffic?
Index traffic is billed based on the amount of data before compression, and the associated resource and cost consumption is greater than other billing items. You can optimize index settings in the following ways to reduce index traffic costs.

Optimization strategies
Description
Disable Full-text index and enable Key-value index
For scenarios where both Full-text index and field index are enabled, it is recommended to disable Full-text index to save costs. The reasons are as follows:
  • Key-value index can also achieve query and analysis in various scenarios.
  • Compared with Key-value index, Full-text index generates more index traffic.
  • In Full-text index, both field names and field values are stored as text, and both generate index traffic. In Key-value index, long-type and double-type field names do not generate index traffic, and each field value occupies 8 bytes of index traffic.
Set indexes only on necessary fields
Identify the fields used for query and analysis, and set Key-value indexes only on these fields.

How to reduce data storage costs?
You can optimize data storage costs in the following ways.
  • Shorten the data storage period and delete data that is no longer needed. For detailed steps, see Modify log storage time.
  • Enable infrequent access storage. For detailed steps, see Create topic.
How to delete data within a log topic?
You need to delete data by modifying the Log storage period in the log topic. When the data retention time reaches the Log storage period you set, the data will be deleted. For detailed steps, see Modify log storage time.
