The Torch Log Service(TLS) supports log query and analysis functions. You must configure the index before performing log query and analysis. When configuring the index, specify the index type and the data types of each field. The index configuration determines the query method and the accuracy of the results. This topic introduces the steps to configuring an index and provides detailed explanations of the index configuration.
Prerequisites
- The log project and log topic are created.
Steps
- In the Check index configuration step, set the following parameters.

- Select Full-text index
- Select the Delimiter for Full-text index
Select the index type for logs as needed. In this example, full-text index is used.- Full-text index: automatically splits logs into keywords using delimiters, making it easier to search by directly entering keywords.
- Key-value index: creates an index based on entered key-value pairs. Reserved fields can not be recorded in the key-value index.
- Reserved field index: When writing log data to TLS, TLS automatically adds some metadata fields to each log. These metadata fields are used to record the log source, timestamp, and other details. When enabled, you can query reserved fields that record log details, such as __content__.
Maximum length for statistic fields2048The maximum size of a single field value is 2048 bytes. Any excess will not be included in statistical analysis.
- After confirming the index configuration, click Submit, review the information prompt, and then click OK.
- The collection configuration is expected to take effect within 1 minute. Refresh the page later to view real-time logs or query and analysis logs.
