TOS provides secure access to private m3u8 files, ensuring their security while fulfilling your access needs. This topic explains how to enable access to private m3u8 files and get permission to download them.

Notes

Accessing private m3u8 files that are encrypted on the server side is not supported.

Enabling access to private m3u8 files

Prerequisites

You have authorized TOS to read from and write to the bucket where the m3u8 file is stored. If the Media processing page shows You have authorized TOS to read and write objects in your bucket, no further action is required.

Steps

In the left navigation pane, click Buckets. In the Buckets list, click the bucket you want to manage.

In the left navigation pane, select Data processing > Media processing.

On the Media processing page, click the Private m3u8 tab.

Click Edit. Then, enable access to private m3u8 files in the Current status section.

Click Select.

Obtaining download authorization for private m3u8 files

You can use the Pm3u8 API to obtain authorization to download a private m3u8 file. Then, paste the API endpoint address containing the authentication information into your browser to access the corresponding audio and video data. For more information, see Pm3u8.
