ObjectSet dedicated access points
This topic explains how to set up a dedicated access point for your ObjectSet based on a converged access point, as well as its use cases.
tip
The converged access point feature is currently in closed beta. Please contact your account manager for access.
A dedicated access point provides an exclusive endpoint for an ObjectSet. After configuration, applications can access the data of the ObjectSet directly through the access point. Access is strictly limited to the ObjectSet. This creates clearer boundaries for resources and isolates access.
ObjectSet dedicated access points are better suited for scenarios where you need to restrict access to a single ObjectSet rather than using bucket domains for bucket-level access control.
- When you need to assign a dedicated access domain to a specific ObjectSet.
- When you need to access each ObjectSet independently to isolate access and differentiate traffic across datasets.
- Dedicated access points enable flexible and controllable access management by providing access to data within an ObjectSet. Use the converged access point module to create and configure a dedicated access point.
- Currently, dedicated access points only support the usage and access protocols available in the console. Refer to the console for specific configurable options.
- Bucket‑level APIs are not supported.
- The recycle bin feature for HNS buckets is currently not supported.
- When you use the CopyObject, RenameObject, or PutSymlink API, the source and target objects must reside within the same ObjectSet.
- Access via a dedicated access point is restricted to the associated ObjectSet. Cross-ObjectSet access is not supported.
- Make sure that you have activated TOS for your account or Identity and Access Management users.
- Make sure that you have created an ObjectSet under your bucket so that you can access it with a converged access point.
- Make sure that your account has the necessary permissions to view and configure converged access points.
Step 1: Create a converged access point
- In the left navigation pane, select Access point > Converged Access Point.
- On the Converged Access Point page, click Create converged access points.
- On the Create converged access points page, configure the parameters based on your needs and click Complete.
Step 2: Configure the access point domain for your ObjectSet
- On the Converged Access Point page, click the converged access point you want to manage.
- In the Custom Endpoint section, click Create Custom Endpoints. In the Bind custom domain dialog, configure the necessary parameters and click Associate.
- In the ObjectSet section, toggle the Status switch on to enable ObjectSet access.
Step 3: View dedicated domains
- In the left navigation pane, click Buckets. Then, locate and click the bucket you want to check.
- In the left navigation pane, select ObjectSet > ObjectSet management.
- On the ObjectSet management page, locate the ObjectSet that you want to check. Click Details in the Actions column to view the relevant information under Independent integrated domain name.
Using dedicated access points
After the configuration is successful, the ObjectSet details page displays a list of dedicated access domains for that ObjectSet. Select the corresponding domain based on the access protocol you are using.
