Using RenameObject
You can use the RenameObject feature to rename objects directly within the bucket. First, enable the feature in the TOS console. Then, rename objects using the RenameObject API. This topic provides background information, notes, and steps for enabling, using, and disabling the RenameObject feature.
Background information
The RenameObject feature is a faster, millisecond-level solution compared to the conventional method described in Renaming objects. Using RenameObject, you can rename any type of object. If the original object is appendable, the renamed object retains that property.

Considerations
Content
RenameObject only changes the name of the object. All object metadata properties, such as the last modified time, are preserved.
Object
  • RenameObject only supports renaming objects uploaded after it is enabled. Objects uploaded before this feature is enabled are not supported.
  • Before using RenameObject, restore any objects stored in Archive, Cold Archive, or Deep Cold Archive. For more information, see Restoring objects.
  • Concurrent renaming of the same object using the RenameObject feature is not supported.
  • RenameObject supports renaming objects created by all methods, including Put, Multi-Upload, Append, Copy, and Rename. If the original object is appendable, the renamed object retains that property.
