Strip
Strip
The strip feature allows you to remove metadata such as EXIF, gAMA, and iCCP from an image. This topic introduces the parameters and provides examples of the strip feature.
Image metadata is additional information stored within an image file that describes its content and characteristics. Various organizations and standards bodies have defined multiple formats for storing this metadata. The EXIF format, for example, is primarily used for photos taken by digital cameras and includes shooting parameters, device information, and thumbnails. You can use the strip feature to protect privacy and anonymize images.
- The following types of metadata can be removed: bKGD, cHRM, EXIF, gAMA, iCCP, iTXt, tEXt, zCCP and zTXt.
- Removing image metadata will delete all of these types. It is not possible to retain certain metadata.
