Validity period and reset cycle
Key terminology matrix

Terminology
Description
Validity period
  • A resource package takes effect immediately upon purchase. The length of its validity depends on how long it was purchased for, and it will automatically expire after that period ends. By default, a resource package expires at 23:59:59 on the same date in the target month. If the target month does not include that date, the expiration defaults to 23:59:59 on the last day of the month.
  • For example, if you purchased a standard storage resource package at 10:00:00 on January 31, 2023:
  • For a 1-month subscription, the expiration time would be February 28, 2023, 23:59:59.
  • For a 2-month subscription, the expiration time would be March 31, 2023, 23:59:59.
  • For a 3-month subscription, the expiration time would be April 30, 2023, 23:59:59.
Reset cycle
Storage capacity pack: The allocated quota resets every hour during the validity period of the package.
For example, if you purchased a 100 GB standard storage capacity package for three months at 10:00:00 on January 15, 2023, the reset cycle would be as follows:
  • The first cycle: January 15, 2023, 10:00:00–10:59:59.
  • The reset quota could offset up to 100 GB of capacity in Standard Storage or in the frequent access tier of Intelligent Tiering Storage.
  • The second cycle: January 15, 2023, 11:00:00–11:59:59.
  • The reset quota could offset up to 100 GB of capacity in Standard Storage or in the frequent access tier of Intelligent Tiering Storage.
  • ......

Traffic/Request packet: The allocated quota resets every month (non-calendar) during the validity period of the package.
For example, if you purchased a 100 GB public outflow traffic package for three months at 10:00:00 on January 15, 2023, the reset cycle would be as follows:
  • The first cycle: January 15, 2023, 10:00:00–February 15, 2023, 23:59:59.
  • The reset quota could offset up to 100 GB of outbound traffic over the public network.
  • The second cycle: February 16, 2023, 00:00:00–March 15, 2023, 23:59:59.
  • The reset quota could offset up to 100 GB of outbound traffic over the public network.
  • The third cycle: March 16, 2023, 00:00:00–April 15, 2023, 23:59:59.
  • The reset quota could offset up to 100 GB of outbound traffic over the public network.

Calculation method
A resource package takes effect immediately upon purchase. The validity period follows a non-calendar month cycle:
  • Purchase date: Month X, Day Y
  • Subscription duration: N months
  • Expiration time: Month (X + N), Day Y, 23:59:59
  • Reset cycle (applicable only to traffic packages and request packages): (N - 1) times
  • Reset time (applicable only to traffic packages and request packages): Target month, Day (Y + 1), 00:00:00
warning
By default, a resource package expires at 23:59:59 on the same date in the target month. If the target month does not include that date, the expiration defaults to 23:59:59 on the last day of the month. For example, if you purchase a one-month resource package on January 29, 30, or 31, it will expire at 23:59:59 on February 28. See the table below for more information.

Renewal
Renewing a resource package is considered a new purchase. The validity period follows a non-calendar month cycle:
  • Purchase date: Month X, Day Y
  • Initial subscription term: N months
  • Renewal term: M months
  • Expiration time: Month (X + N + M), Day Y, 23:59:59
  • Reset cycle (applicable only to traffic packages and request packages): (N + M - 1) times
warning
  • By default, a resource package expires at 23:59:59 on the same date in the target month. If the target month does not include that date, the expiration defaults to 23:59:59 on the last day of the month. For example, if you purchase a one-month resource package on January 29, 30, or 31, it will expire at 23:59:59 on February 28. See the table below for more information.
  • Tiered discounts are available for resource packages of different subscription durations and specifications. However, discount tiers for new purchases and renewals cannot be stacked. For example, if you purchase a three-month resource package and later renew it for another three months, you will receive the three-month discount tier, not the six-month tier. For discount details, see the Resource package purchase page.

Examples
Storage capacity pack
The allocated quota resets every hour. Any unused quota from the current hour does not carry over to the next hour.
For example, if you purchased a 100 GiB standard storage capacity package for three months at 10:00:00 on January 30, 2023, the package would expire at 23:59:59 on April 30, 2023. The package could provide hourly coverage for up to 100 GiB of Standard Storage or an equivalent capacity in the frequent access tier of Intelligent Tiering Storage:
Traffic/Request packet
The total resources in the package decrease gradually with usage and are automatically reset to zero at the end of each cycle. The quota replenishes at the start of each non-calendar month until the package expires.
For example, if you purchased a 100 GB public outflow traffic package at 10:00:00 on January 30, 2023, for three months, the package would offset the fees for 100 GB of outbound traffic over the public network each cycle within the validity period.
  1. January 30, 2023, 10:00:00–February 5, 2023: The outbound traffic over the public network was 20 GB, which was fully covered by the package. The remaining quota was 80 GB.
  1. February 6, 2023–February 10, 2023: The outbound traffic over the public network was 100 GB. Of this, 80 GB was covered by the package, and the remaining 20 GB was billed at pay-as-you-go rates.
  1. February 11, 2023– February 28, 2023, 23:59:59: The outbound traffic over the public network was 100 GB. Since the package quota had been fully used, the full 100 GB was charged on a pay-as-you-go basis.
  1. March 1, 2023, 00:00:00–March 30, 2023, 23:59:59: The package quota reset. During this cycle, the reset quota could offset an additional 100 GB of outbound traffic over the public network. Any excess usage would be billed at pay-as-you-go rates.
  1. March 31, 2023, 00:00:00–April 30, 2023, 23:59:59: The package quota reset. During this cycle, the reset quota could offset an additional 100 GB of outbound traffic over the public network. Any excess usage would be billed at pay-as-you-go rates.
