Compared with multi-user environments, DDH is a dedicated physical server equipped with a virtualized environment. It enables you to exclusively use all resources of the physical machine while enjoying flexibility, low costs, and other benefits.
Exclusivity
By using DDH, you can exclusively use the physical resources of the host (CPU, memory, volumes, network interfaces, and others). You can independently plan use of the resources within the host, avoiding resource contention with other users and enhancing security.
Flexibility
Flexible deployment
You can specify a DDH or use the automatic deployment feature to create ECS instances, enabling flexible business deployment. Additionally, the feature of associating instance with host ensures that when an instance in Economical Mode is restarted, it continues to run on the same DDH, helping you maintain your instance deployment plan.
Flexible migration
You can migrate instances from one DDH to another based on your needs, migrate instances from a shared host to a specified DDH, or migrate instances from a DDH to a shared host, achieving flexible business migration.
Security
Resource isolation at the host level is provided. CPU, memory, volumes, network interfaces, and other resources are exclusively yours and are not affected by other users' workloads. DDH also provides protection for sensitive business data to meet the stringent regulatory requirements of the financial industry.
Low cost
Save cloud migration costs
The CPU-oversubscribed host provided by DDH allows you to increase the number of available vCPUs by setting the CPU oversubscription ratio. This increases the deployment density for low-load businesses (such as development test environments and internal systems) and reduces instance deployment costs.
Save license expenses
DDH allows you to Bring Your Own License (BYOL) to the cloud. If you have already purchased licenses authorized based on physical CPU cores, number of virtual machines, or CPU count, you can continue to use these licenses on DDH in accordance with the license terms, thereby saving license expenses.
High availability
Automatic failover capability is provided. When a host fails, the system automatically migrates all instances to a new host machine. This migration is performed automatically and you do not need to prepare a standby machine. You can also manually migrate an ECS instance between different host machines without shut down the instance, thus ensuring high availability for your business.
ECS instance features
ECS instances deployed on DDH support images, security groups, configuration changes, SSH key, and other features. The usage of each feature is same as that for ordinary ECS instances.
