DDH lifecycle
The lifecycle of a DDH refers to all the states it goes through from creation (purchase) to deletion (release or termination).
Through proper planning and management of the lifecycle, you can ensure that instances running on the DDH can provide services to users in a convenient, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
DDH status details are shown in the table below.

Status
State attribute
State description
Creating
Intermediate state
The state of your DDH after creation and before entering the Running state.
Running
Stable state
Normal running state of the DDH. When your DDH is in this state, you can create and manage ECS instances.
Expired
Stable state
After a subscription-based DDH expires, it enters the Expired state. After renewal, it can be restored to the Running state.
Released
Stable state
After a subscription-based DDH expires or is unsubscribed, it is automatically released and enters the Released state. After the DDH is released, all associated resources will no longer be available.
Host risk
Stable state
The DDH has a potential failure, which may cause issues of ECS instances deployed on the DDH. You can refer to the Migrating DDHs at risk of failure to manually migrate the risky DDH to another healthy host.
Temporarily unavailable
Stable state
When your DDH shuts down due to a failure, you can refer to the Migrating DDHs at risk of failure to enable automatic migration upon shutdown or manually migrate the DDH to another healthy host.
