DDH and instance billing
This topic describes the billing methods and billed resources for DDHs and the instances deployed on DDHs.
DDH only supports the Subscription prepayment mode, which means payment is made before use. When purchasing a DDH, you need to make payment for one month, multiple months or years in advance. This payment covers all resources (including CPU and memory) on the DDH, and the compute resources (vCPUs and memory) of instances deployed on the DDH do not incur additional charges.

  • You can purchase a DDH by month (1-9 months) or by year (1-3 years). When purchasing a DDH, you need to make payment for 1 month, multiple months or years in advance. • If the subscription duration for the DDH you want to purchase exceeds 1 year, you can benefit from an annual discount provided by the platform. The specific discount is displayed on the actual order settlement page.

For the specific price of a DDH, please refer to the price displayed at the bottom of the DDH purchase page in the ECS console.
Billing cycle
The billing cycle for a subscription-based DDH is the duration (UTC+8 time) subscribed by you. A billing cycle starts from the time when the resource is activated (accurate to the second), and ends at 23:59:59 on the expiration date.
For example, you create a subscription-based DDH on May 1, 2023, at 14:00:00, with a subscription duration of 1 month. The billing cycle will be from 14:00:00 on May 1, 2023 to 23:59:59 on June 1, 2023.
Limits
It is not allowed to delete subscription-based DDHs before expiration. If you want to delete a DDH in advance, you can apply to unsubscribe it. For detailed steps, please refer to Unsubscription description.
