Setting CPU oversubscription ratio
The CPU oversubscription ratio determines the number of available vCPUs for an oversubscription-enabled DDH. For scenarios with low CPU load requirements or where strict CPU stability is not mandatory, you can configure the CPU oversubscription ratio to increase the instance deployment density on the host. This helps reduce the overall business deployment costs.
tip
This topic describes how to change the CPU oversubscription ratio for an existing DDH. You can also set the CPU oversubscription ratio when you create a DDH. For more information, see Creating dedicated host (DDH).
Prerequisites
  • The DDH must be an oversubscription-enabled DDH. For DDH specification types provided by VolcanoEngine, refer to DDH specifications.
  • All ECS instances on the DDH must be in the Stopped status. You can filter all instances deployed on the current DDH on the instance list page and stop the instances.
Procedure
  1. Log in to the DDH console.
  1. In the top menu bar, select the region where your business is located.
  1. On the DDH list page, use either of the following methods to access the page for changing the CPU oversubscription ratio.
  • Click the "··· > Change CPU oversubscription ratio" button in the "Actions" column of the target host.
  • Click the target host to enter the host overview page, and then click the "··· > Change CPU oversubscription ratio" button in the upper right corner.
  1. Select the CPU oversubscription ratio. 2x, 3x, and 4x ratios are supported.
  1. Click the " Confirm" button to complete the operation.
