Creating DDHs and deploying instances
This topic describes how to quickly create a DDH and deploy an instance on it in the console.
Prerequisites
The preparations are completed. For more information, see Preparations.
Procedure
tip
This topic only describes the required parameters and their values when you create resources. For parameters not mentioned, retain the default settings. To learn about all parameters, refer to Creating dedicated host (DDH) and Creating instances on DDH.
Step 1: Create a DDH
  1. Log in to the DDH console.
  1. In the top menu bar, select the region where your business is located.
  1. Click the "Create host" button to enter the DDH creation page, and configure the parameters as shown in the following table.
  •
    Parameter
    Example
    Description
    Billing method
    Subscription
    Currently, only Subscription is supported.
    Region and AZ
    China (Beijing) A
Select a region closest to your service location.
    Host specification
    ecs.ddhr2s
For the DDH specifications provided by VolcanoEngine, refer to Specifications.
    Hostname
    DDH-1
Specify the name of the DDH.
    CPU oversubscription ratio
    4
This parameter is used to increase the available vCPUs of the DDH. The default value is 4.
Available vCPUs of a DDH = Number of physical CPU cores * 2 * CPU oversubscription ratio
    Automatic deployment
By default, "Allow automatic deployment" is not selected.
You can either configure the automatic deployment of the instance on the default DDH or manually specify a DDH for instance deployment. By default, automatic deployment is not allowed.
    Quantity
    1
Specify the number of DDHs to create. By default, 1 DDH is created.
    Subscription duration
    1 month
The default duration is 1 month.
    Automatic renewal
By default, "Automatic renewal upon expiration" is not selected.
Retain the default setting. That is, do not enable automatic renewal.

  1. Review and confirm the relevant agreement based on the console instructions, and then click the "Buy now" button to complete the purchase.
  • At this point, you obtain a memory oversubscribed ecs.ddhr2s DDH named DDH-1.
Step 2: Create an instance
  1. On the DDH list page, click the "Create instance" button in the "Actions" column of the target host.
  1. Complete the basic configuration of the instance as shown in the following table.
  •
    Parameter
    Example
    Description
    Dedicated host
    DDH-1
Specify DDH-1 created in Step 1 to deploy the instance.
    Instance type
    8 vCPUs, 16 GiB
Specify the vCPU and memory configuration of the instance type.
    Image
    CentOS 7.9
The image provides the operating system and required application data for the instance.

  1. Click the "Next" button to go to the "Network and security" step, and complete the network and security configuration of the instance as shown in the following table.
  •
    Parameters
    Example
    Description
    VPC
    vpc-01
    192.168.0.0/16
    Subnet
    subnet-01
    192.168.1.0/24
    Elastic IP (EIP)
    Select Elastic IP (EIP)
Enable this feature to automatically assign an EIP to the instance upon creation, providing Internet access capability.

  1. Click the "Next" button to go to the "Advanced configuration" step, and complete the advanced configuration of the instance as shown in the following table.
  •
    Parameter
    Example
    Description
    Login credentials
    Key Pair
The login credentials for the instance. Select the "Key pair" method for higher security.
    Login name
    root
This parameter is fixed as root.
    Key pair
    ECS-01
Click "Create key pair". Enter a key pair name and quickly create a key pair used for instance login.
    Instance name
    ECS-Instance-01
Specify the name of the instance.

  1. Confirm the order information, review and confirm the relevant agreement based on the console instructions, and complete the purchase.
  • At this point, you will obtain an ecs.ddhr2s.define.c8m16 instance named ECS-Instance-01.
