Migrating ECS instances from DDHs to shared hosts
If your business no longer requires dedicated resources or a higher level of isolation, you can migrate the ECS instances on your DDH to a shared host to reduce deployment costs.
Usage notes
When you migrate ECS instances from different DDHs to shared hosts, the available target instance types may vary. See the table below for details. For detailed specification information, refer to:
Prerequisites
- The target host must belong to the same account, region, and availability zone as the ECS instance to be migrated.
- The ECS instances to be migrated on DDHs must be in the Stopped status. Stop the instances first.
Billing rules
After migrating ECS instances from DDHs to shared hosts, you need to pay separately for compute resources (vCPU and memory). The compute resource fee is not included in the DDH fee. Make sure that your account balance is sufficient. For more information, refer to Pay-as-you-go. Procedure
- In the top menu bar, select the region where your business is located.
- On the DDH list page, click the target host to go to the host details page, and then select the "Associated instances" tab.
- In the "Actions" column of the target instance, click "Change host deployment".
- In the pop-up dialog box, configure the parameters described in the following table.
- Click "Confirm" to complete the operation.
Subsequent operations
After the migration is complete, the corresponding instance will no longer appear on the "Associated instances" tab of the DDH. You can view the migrated instance on the ECS instance list page.
