DDH FAQ
How to purchase a DDH?
You can purchase one directly in the console. For specific steps, see Purchasing DDHs.
What is the difference between a DDH and a regular ECS instance?
DDH is a dedicated cloud host with a virtualization environment deployed, which provides dedicated physical resources. You have exclusive access to all the physical server resources, which are physically isolated from other users’ servers. After purchasing a DDH, you can use it by deploying ECS instances on it. This allows you to plan resource utilization and customize instance configurations. A regular ECS instance has the underlying physical server resources shared among multiple users.
What is the difference between a DDH and an EBM server?
Elastic Bare Metal (EBM) server is based on a bare-metal architecture. It provides physical server rental services that can be purchased based on your specific needs, allowing you to utilize the host resources directly. The DDH service offers virtualization platforms. After purchasing a DDH, you can use it by deploying ECS instances on it.
How do I view the total or used resources of a DDH?
On the DDH list page in the DDH console, you can view the "vCPU Usage/Total" or "Memory Usage/Total (GiB)" for your DDH.
Do I need to select volumes and Internet bandwidth when purchasing a DDH?
No, you do not need to select a volume or Internet bandwidth when purchasing a DDH. You only need to select these resources when creating instances on the DDH. For more information, see Creating ECS instance on DDH.
What should I do if my DDH is in the "TCE-metal risk" status?
To migrate a DDH in "Host risk" status to another healthy host, refer to Migrating DDHs at risk of failure.
