Creating dedicated host (DDH)
You can refer to this topic to create one or more DDHs.
Procedure
  1. Log in to the DDH console.
  1. In the top menu bar, select the region where your business is located.
  1. Click the "Create host" button.
  1. Configure the parameters by referring to the following table.
  •
    Parameter
    Description
    Sample value
    Billing method
Subscription: You need to prepay the subscription fee based on the subscription duration term.
    Subscription
    Region and AZ
    • Region: Private networks in different regions are isolated from each other. We recommend that you select a region that is closest to your business to reduce network latency and improve access speed.
    • Availability zone: An availability zone refers to a physical area in the same region that is isolated in electricity power and network. By default, internal networks between availability zones in the same VPC are interconnected.
    tip
After a DDH is purchased, you cannot change the region and availability zone of the DDH. For more information, see Regions and availability zones.

    Host specification
The host specification determines the instance type families and quantity you can create on the DDH. For more information, see Instance types.

    Hostname
    The name of the DDH.

    CPU oversubscription ratio
When the host specification is an oversubscription-enabled DDH, you can increase the number of available vCPUs on the DDH by configuring the CPU oversubscription ratio. This allows you to deploy more ECS instances of the same type and reduce overall business deployment costs.
The number of available vCPUs on an oversubscription-enabled DDH is calculated using the following formula: Available vCPUs = Number of physical CPU cores × 2 × CPU oversubscription ratio. For example, an ecs.ddhr2s DDH comes with 56 physical CPU cores. When a 3x CPU oversubscription ratio is configured, the total number of vCPUs available on the DDH upon creation will be 336.
    tip
For oversubscription-disabled DDHs, the CPU oversubscription ratio is fixed at 1 and does not support custom configuration.
    3
    Automatic deployment
Whether to allow automatic deployment of instances on the DDH.
    • When a DDH is configured to allow automatic deployment, the system will add the DDH to the resource pool for automatic instance deployment, improving the flexibility of resource deployment.
    • If automatic deployment is disabled, you need to manually deploy instances on the DDH. Specifically, you need to specify the DDH when creating an instance. For more information, see Creating instances on DDH.
    -
    Quantity
Specify the number of DDHs to create.
    1
    Subscription duration
Select the subscription duration for the DDH based on your needs. 1–9 months, 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years are supported.
    1 year
    Automatic renewal
Select "Automatic renewal upon expiration" based on your needs. After automatic renewal is enabled, the platform will automatically deduct the renewal fee for your DDH before its expiration date, eliminating the need for manual renewal.
    -

  1. On the purchase page, confirm the DDH configuration details on the right side. Then, review and confirm the relevant agreements based on the console instructions.
  1. Click the "Buy now" button. And then confirm the order information, such as configurations, payment method, subscription duration, quantity and amount. After you confirm configuration is correct, click the "Next" button.
If you have available coupons, you can select coupons to deduct your payment.
  1. After the payment is complete, click the "Go to the console" button to go to the DDH list page and check whether the DDH is created.
Result verification
You can view the newly created DDH on the DDH list page. When the status of the DDH changes to "Available", you can use the DDH as expected. If you cannot view it immediately, refresh the page and try again.
Subsequent operations
After you create a DDH, you can:
