[EOS announcement] End of sale for n1 and n2i instance families of VCI
General-purpose n1 and general-purpose n2i instance families of VCI of Volcano Engine will no longer be available for purchase starting from September 20, 2024. Instead, you can purchase instances of the general-purpose computing power u1 instance family, or deploy your business without specifying an instance family (The system will assign a default instance family for you). EOS description
- Discontinued instance specifications:
- All instance specifications in the general-purpose n1 instance family
- All instance specifications in the general-purpose n2i instance family
- Scope of discontinuation:
- These two instance families will be unavailable for purchase across all supported regions and availability zones. For the list of regions and availability zones where VCI is available, see Regions and availability zones.
Impact of discontinuation
The following content describes the impact on you after the discontinuation of the preceding VCI families.
- Starting from September 20, 2024, you will not be able to apply for the quotas of n1 and n2i instance families in a region or availability zone.
- Already created instances of the n1 and n2i instance families can continue to be used. We will reserve slightly higher quotas for n1 and n2i instances than the usage at the time of discontinuation to update and recreate these existing instances.
- The quotas for n1 and n2i instances that remain unused for more than 14 days will be reclaimed. If your business continues to grow, you can purchase instances of the general-purpose computing power u1 instance family, or let the system assign the default instance family to deploy your business.
More information
You can refer to the official documentation and specify vci.u1 as the instance family by using an annotation to deploy general-purpose computing power u1 instances. Last updated: 2026.03.16 14:55:25
