Arrears Explanation
This topic describes the VCI arrears and service suspension, as well as how to view arrears information.
Causes of Arrears
VCI fee settling is on an hourly basis, with deductions made in real-time after bills are generated. If the available credit in your account (including the account balance and vouchers) is less than the amount to be settled, your account will be considered in arrears. You will receive an SMS or email alert for insufficient balance. You can see Billing management to view arrears details.
Service Suspension Due to Arrears
After your account is in arrears, your resources will enter a retention period, during which resource usage will be restricted. If the retention period expires, your resources will be forcibly reclaimed and cannot be recovered once reclaimed. Remember to recharge your balance and settle the arrears within the specified time (before resources are forcibly reclaimed) to avoid interruption of VCI resource usage.
After the bills are settled, instances suspended due to arrears will automatically start up and enter the Running state.
tip
If your account is in arrears, after settling the arrears, ensure that the available credit in your account (including the account balance and vouchers) is at least CNY 100. Otherwise, you will not be able to create instances.
Regardless of whether your instance resources are frozen or released, you must settle all charges for bills that have already been generated.
The following figure shows the status of VCI running and billing after arrears occur.

Resource release due to arrears
  • Suspension time: 2 hours after arrears occur.
  • Release time: 15 days and 2 hours (that is, 362 hours) after arrears occur.
