[Product changes] The VKE suspends supporting creating the ECS of the specification series of g1, c1, r1, and i1
The Volcano Engine ECS will suspend selling the ECS products of the specification series of the General-purpose g1, Compute-optimized c1, Memory-optimized r1, and Local SSD i1 starting from November 7, 2022. Therefore, the VKE no longer supports creating nodes corresponding to the ECS of the above specification series.
Change impact
  • When creating clusters and node pools, you cannot select ECS specification series that have been discontinued.
  • Node pools of the General-purpose g1, Compute-optimized c1, Memory-optimized r1, and Local SSD i1 that have been created:
  • You cannot scale nodes of ECS instances with discontinued specifications.
  • You can still purchase a Performance SSD cloud disk. Meanwhile, the mounted Performance SSD cloud disk can be scaled normally. For detailed operation instructions on nodes using cloud disk Persistent Volume (PV), refer to the FAQ
Modifying the specifications of node pools
The VKE supports modifying the specifications of existing general-purpose g1, compute-optimized c1, memory-optimized r1, and local SSD i1 node pools. After specifications are modified, VKE supports scaling based on the new specifications, and existing nodes with original specifications remain unaffected. For detailed operations, refer to Managing node pools.
