[Product changes] VKE is now fully compatible with new ECS instance specifications
Starting from April 15, 2022, Volcengine Kubernetes Engine (VKE) will make the following adjustments to the ECS instance types supported by worker nodes.
  1. The worker node of the VKE is now fully compatible with and supports using the ECS model of a new specification, including General-purpose balanced augmented g1ie and Compute balanced augmented c1ie.
tip
The new ECS instance specification supports only ESSD (Enhanced SSD) cloud disks. The VKE recommends using these new-specification ECS models.
  1. The previous-generation ECS models supported by VKE worker nodes, including General-purpose g1, Compute-optimized c1, and Memory-optimized r1, will be added to the allowlist and made available to users.
  • If you need to use the ECS models of the previous specifications, submit a ticket through ECS products to apply for the permission of the allowlist.
