Billing overview
This topic describes the billable resources and corresponding billing methods for VCI.
Billing instructions
VCI has two billable items: instance specifications and image caches.

Billable item
Description
Billing duration
Balance deduction granularity
Supported billing methods
  • Fees are incurred by the vCPU, memory, and GPU specifications applied during instance creation.
  • For unsupported vCPU, memory, or GPU specifications that are specified, the system adjusts them, and the billing is based on the adjusted specifications after adjustment. For the adjustment logic, see Instance specification adjustment description.
Fees are incurred by the instance running duration. The running duration of an instance refers to the time window starting from the container image download (Pending state) and ending when any of the conditions is met:
  • The instance is released.
  • It enters the Succeeded state.
  • It enters the Failed state.
The fee details displayed on bills are accurate down to 6 decimal places, while the actual amount deducted from the account balance is accurate down to 2 decimal places.
  • Pay-as-you-go
  • Pay-as-you-go and RCI
You are charged for image caches only if you use this feature. Fees are incurred by the snapshot storage of image caches.
Fees are incurred by the storage duration of the image cache snapshot. The storage duration refers to the time window starting from the generation of the image cache (the cache enters the [Ready.Ok] state) and ending when the image cache is deleted.
The fee details displayed on bills are accurate down to 5 decimal places, while the actual amount deducted from the account balance is accurate down to 2 decimal places.
Pay-as-you-go

Billing method
VCI supports the pay-as-you-go billing method. It is a postpaid mode in which you use resources first and pay later. For billing details and unit prices, see Pay-as-you-go.
For pay-as-you-go instances, you can use Reserved Container Instance (RCI) in beta to offset computing resource bills and reduce resource costs. You can purchase them based on your business requirements. For more information, see Reserved Container Instances.
Billing cycle
The billing cycle is accurate down to seconds, and bills are settled on an hourly basis.
